ASNET participated in the French Agro Club Conversations organized by the French Chamber in partnership with the French Embassy. The objective of the workshop was to discuss Food Security & Food Safety in East Africa; Challenges and Opportunities.
The discussions focused on an overview of Food security challenges in the region, a presentation on Twiga’ Foods story, ambition and mission to solve the Food security challenges in Kenya, and over the continent and finally bioMérieux’s activities in the region and how they fulfill their mission of contributing to public health by supporting companies in ensuring food safety and improving their profitability.
Key Speakers were Mr. Vincent Abt, the Agriculture and Food Counsellor EA and the Indian Ocean at the French Embassy, Mr. Yebeltal Getachew, CEO Twiga Foods and Mrs. Soumeya Loucif, the Strategic and Global Accounts Manager. The fruitful conversation saw some participants taking interest in ASNET’s value chains development; particularly working with smallholder farmers in strengthening market linkages and value addition. Present from ASNET was ASNET GM Agatha Thuo, Mr. Duncan Onduu of STAK and Mr. Peter Njonjo of Vegpro Group.
