There are 2 projects funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The targeted areas of implementation are in Western Kenya, partner counties: Bungoma, Kakamega, Siaya, Vihiga, and Kisumu. They include:
- Youth Employment in the Agri-food Sector in Western Kenya which is giving Institutional capacity support to ASNET
- Rural Youth Employment which enhance employment – conducive framework conditions and job matching opportunities for improved youth employment creation in Western Kenya
a.) Promotion of Youth Employment in the Agri-food Sector in Western Kenya
This project is funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The main objectives of the project is to provide employment opportunities for the rural through in Western Kenya ( Kisumu, Vihiga, Kakamega, Bungoma and Siaya Counties). Secondly, it will Build strong partnerships and collaborations between private sector companies, ATVET institutions and youth organizations in the agri-food sector.
The project also provides institutional capacity support to ASNET (defining and setting up administrative & financial systems adaptable to expanding ASNET’s mandate to accommodate youth-led and small businesses in Western Kenya. This will be made possible through image campaigns in collaboration with GIZ Agri-Jobs 4 Youth
b.) RYE Project (Rural Youth Employment Project Kenya)
This project is funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The main objective is to have an improved employment-conducive framework conditions in Western Kenya through Internship Programs, digital matching platform and exchange formats and cooperation agreement between private sector companies, ATVET centres and alumni networks/youth organizations established.
The targeted areas are in Western Kenya, partner counties: Bungoma, Kakamega, Siaya, Vihiga, and Kisumu.
